Inter-House Hockey Tournament 2016
This year,
once again, the brutal matches were played; sticks brandished and mouth guards
worn. The first day of the hockey tournament was held at a delayed time due to
unfavourable weather conditions. Our first match against Alia was rather
disappointing as we lost both the senior and junior matches. Nevertheless both
teams picked themselves back up and spent the rest of the day strategising.
The next
day, our strategising proved fruitful as the junior team managed to tie with
Jawahir and clinched a win in the match against Naquiah. Congratulations,
sweeties! These baby dragons really did give it their all and even though I do
not know much about this stick-game I do know that they really hit the balls
hard and well.
Likewise, our senior team
returned with a vengeance as they beat Jawahir in the match on the second day.
There were some startling goals as our dear striker Munira or Moon, lay on the
ground to shoot her second consecutive goal. Defence was also very much on
point. At the end of the day, Irinah’s junior and senior team placed second for
hockey! Good job, y’all!
