Interhouse Netball 2012

As weeks drew nearer to days and the interhouse netball competition got ever so close, we Irinians trained hard on our passes, strategies and of course, teamwork during the game. Having fun albeit tiring practices throughout the few weeks before the competition, we Irinians fostered stronger bonds and new friendships on the field.

When the time came for the actual game, loud cheers could be heard as the game progressed, cheering and spurring the players on. Added to that were shouts of advice from the other Irinians on how to up our game that day.

Amongst the incredible support the players got from the house, the juniors emerged champions, beating Alia, Jawahir and Naquiah to the prize. Playing their best despite the rainy weather and wet grounds, the juniors managed to win 2 out of 3 games and tie the other game, conveniently putting Irinah juniors on the top. The seniors however, were not as lucky but they never gave up right till the end of all the matches.

All in all nonetheless, everyone played their part to the fullest and learnt many rich and valuable lessons from both junior and senior games, saving tips and strategies for the games to come. No matter the consequences and outcomes, the other houses truly witnessed the Irinah spirit- the spirit of the dragon- as the support and experiences we Irinians reaped were what truly mattered in the end.
