Hey everyone! Sorry for the delay, it has been one hectic term with examinations and tons of programmes. Despite being in the midst of the examination weeks, our Irinah girls were still active in the interhouse competitions.
Under the hot scorching sun, the Irinian basketballers trained endlessly, preparing themselves for the annual interhouse basketball competition. 9th May came, and it was time to play. Our first game was against the Jawahir girls, and it was a tough match for both the senior and junior teams. The Jawahir girls were pretty strong, and they put up quite a fight.
Everyone played really well throughout the whole game, and even though we were losing in the beginning, the Irinian players never gave up hope. They kept their spirits up and played their ultimate best until the last second. This resulted in us beating the Jawahirians in a what seemed to be a pretty difficult game.
Our game against Alia was the one that would decide the winner for the competition. It was a tough game as most of the school players are in Alia. Nevertheless, our Irinian players played their very best, and showed their Irinah spirit.
The supporters were amazing as they kept the players’ spirits up. We might’ve lost by only one point to Alia in the Junior category, but it never took our spirit away. A big round of applause for the basketballers who took part and did their best, and not to mention the cheerleaders for being awesome, as usual :)
