NADZIRINAH CARNIVAL
House Night to DISTRICT 21
The main purpose of House Night is to help all Irinians old and new to bond, and what better place is there to do this than at District 21? This is where we Irinians spent House Night for the second term of the 2015 academic year. For those of you who do not know this, District 21 is a post-apocalyptic themed park located in the IOI City Mall in Putrajaya. Granted this might not seem like the place to go to for a day of bonding, but the activties at the park are supposed to be centred around team building.
Personally, I wasn’t particularly in the mood to drag myself all the way out to Putrajaya for House Night, but I now know that I would have regretted missing out on it. There are 11 attractions available in District 21, namely the Power Station, Roller Glider, GoPedal, Pump Track, Sky Trail, Low Ropes, Launch Pad, The Maze, Free Fall, Tubby Ride and the Carousel.

It is impossible to try out all of these in one short afternoon. The queues leading to each attraction were murderously long. Having to wait for more than half an hour outside each attraction does have its silver lining though—it gave us the opportunity to talk and get to know each other a little better. Many of us found that we have things in common (such as a great dislike for long queues).
After a few hours of bonding at District 21, we left the park to do a bit of shopping and to have dinner. Despite not getting the chance to spend time with every single member of the house, we were still able to bond really well, and in all I would consider this House Night a success.

Cross Country 2014
Weeks before the red
letter day, we could heard the ringing of bell and our house prefects shouted:
‘HOUSE RUN, OUT OF HOUSE!’ and this clearly proves that the Irinians had been
practicing hard to prepare ourselves for the Cross Country race!
On that Saturday morning, everyone assembled at the main field before the race started. The main field was dotted with students who were wearing their respective colourful house shirts, there were yellow, red, blue, green, purple, pink and of course the striking dynamite ORANGE!
Throughout the race, we Irinians tried our best to finish the race. Despite the muscle ache, we pushed ourselves to the max until we reached the finishing line. Finally, our hard work paid off and Irinah emerged as champion in Senior Girls Category!

Undeniably, the
tremendous support and non-stopped cheering from the other Irinians who were
unable to participate in the race had boost up our determination and
perseverance to complete the race. And of course, not to forget, much
appreciation to Housemistress, Ms Angie, Ms Pathma, Madam Yeoh and Matron Ivy
who had supported us throughout the race.
Yet again, the spirit
of the dragons has been shown! A round of applause to all the Irinians for
bringing glory to the house! Unfortunately, the juniors have not completed
their race yet due to a rerun and we would like to wish them “Good Luck!!” and
all the best in the coming rerun race.

Inter-House Hockey 2014
As the inter-house hockey season drew near, it was time to begin our intense training sessions. Unfortunately, we did not have as much training time as we hoped due to weather constraints but us Irinians did not let the weather get the best of us. We kept our chins up high and strived for the best. Each training session was not only a chance for us to enhance our skills but also a chance to gain confidence which will be instilled in each individual. Most importantly, the bond between our fellow Irinians grew stronger.

The cheers of the Irinians echoed from the hockey field every time a goal was scored.
In the end, our seniors managed to clinch the first place trophy while our juniors, narrowly beaten, placed third. Regardless of the outcome, we couldn't be prouder of both the senior and junior teams, who played their hearts out.
The hockey players have shown us that each game has been about scoring more than just points. Our Irinians have developed a sense of discipline and integrity, along with their fitness and skills. Even though the stakes were high, we supported each other until the very end. We came, we saw, we conquered!
